I am almost done with the first decade 1931-1940, the filmography data will soon be on the database website; books will follow soon after.
While editing the cast I saw a name Madhubala in Svaastik (1939), our Madhu's first film would be in 1942. So, I was curious about this one. The only photo of her I could find is this one, the cover of the booklet, provided to me by Har Mandir Singh 'Hamraaz'.
Three females are mentioned, Vina Kumari, Indurani and Madhubala. Having written a book on her, I know that she is the in first row. Since Vina Kumari is mention first, my guess is that she is in the second row. So this Madhubala is the one in the third row.
Among the three males, I can see that Jivan is at bottom right. I know that Nazir Bedi is a character artist, so he is in the first row, the other man in the third row is Sushil Kumar.
It will be great if somebody can confirm some of the guesses by providing labeled photos.
