I was under the impression that he acted only in one film Awara (1951). Thanks to some nice detective work by N Ramaswamy, I was proved wrong. He was also in Ehsan (1954).

His biography from Who's Who of Indian Musicians published by Sangeet Natak Akademi in 1968 and 1984. No idea why the birth details differ.
